Most Recent (2004) Least Recent (1998)

Welcome to the Grayscale section, which contains work done in varying combinations of ink, gouache, acrylic and pencil. The most recent images are pieces that I did for Clinton R. Nixon for his fantasy RPG The Shadow of Yesterday. For all things TSOY, click HERE.

My favorite piece in this section is still Scouting the Path, which I completed in the Summer of 2003. I just love everything that's going on in the scene. I look at it and get excited when I think about what dangers lie in wait for these characters. The fan favorite, however, is my illustration of the world's friendliest lich, Zimm and his Magma Golem.

There are also nine illustrations in this section that I put together for a Magic: The Gathering tournament in the Summers of 2002 and 2003 where friends of mine created their own card set and held a sealed deck tournament where their cards were used as the boosters. I had the assignment of illustrating all the "Legend" cards for the first tournament, then revisiting four of them for the 2003 tournament. The ones found here are my favorites. Working on that assignment in 2002 was what got me seriously thinking about illustration as a career.
