Sketchbook (2003)

Welcome to the 2003 Sketchbook. During this time, I was beginning to experiment more with watercolor and gouache, and was sketching less because I was busy working on more lavish pieces. Most of the work here is D&D related, with lots of character sketches and a scene featuring one of my favorite characters of all time, Bunk Bonethrasher, a half-ogre ex-gladiator sworn to a life of pacifism, and Sir Marklor of Carn. I began, in my sketches from this period, to take care to include detail that I would have just scribbled my way through in the past. The trend continues in many of my sketches from 2004, where you'll observe an attention to detail greater than you'll find in any of my earlier sketches.
